WIP - Algini from C. J. Cherryh's Foreigner series.
I'm painting stuff! really! I'm not going to fall off the wagon again, no I am not.
Anyways, a continuation of the Bren image I did last. Algini, one of his team (aliens, hopefully that's somewhat clear =/. kind of just looks like a Dunmer, but I have a frickin essay ready on why this is inevitable in this case). He is described often as being quite glum, so the resting bitch-face look is intentional haha. The rest of the team actually have normal, even pleasant, expressions.
Just showing my favorite? part of painting where I try and keep the essence of the character intact as I paint more realistic lighting and shadow. It's haaaard.
Definitely still needs lots of work.

Cool rendition of an ateva! 
It's subtly non-human, I think, which I like -- I'm content with Todd Lockwood's version of them, but this is not so far different to seem at all "wrong" to me. Interestingly enough, this looks like a blending of atevi as portrayed on the covers and the Hatani of C. J. Cherryh's "Cuckoo's Egg".
Also, pretty glowy golden eyes there. I know it's repeated dozens of times over in the books that those eyes are unnerving to humans, but in *pictures*, at least, they sure are lovely!
